NINE North Norfolk Beach Runners took part in wet running conditions in the Wymondham 20 mile run with great success.

Chris Merrylees continued his season build-up, coming sixth in a field of 248 in 2-02:47 to be second in the senior men's category. Paul Muffett was 14th and second in the 50-54 age group in 2-13:15, being chased in by Colin Stark 11 seconds behind him in 16th place and John Christopher just one second further back in 17th. Andy McLaren clocked 2-29:40 and he Paul Muffett and John Christopher came second in the veterans' team race. Good runs were put in by Dave Spooner, Maria Greaves, Eddie Carmen and Shelly Burton.

The previous weekend four Beach Runners made the trek to Leicester to the infamous cross country Belvoir Challenge with the option of 15 mile or 26 miles of muddy running. Christina Walker and Dave Spooner ran together in the 15 mile race in 2-27:23, coming 159/160th in a field of 764.

Andy McLaren and Antony Money took on the 26 mile challenge, with Andy completing in 4-14:26 and 39th and Antony 101st in 4-48:05 in a field of 273.
