The 64th Annual Festival of Bowls opened on Great Yarmouth seafront with some terrific bowls in splendid sunshine.

Liz Shorter, from North Walsham, was crowned ladies' singles champion for the second time in four years after a convincing final victory in the Bells Whisky-sponsored event.

Liz Shorter, from North Walsham, was crowned ladies' singles champion for the second time in four years after a convincing final victory in the Bells Whisky-sponsored event.

She beat Caister's Melanie Haylett 21 shots to nine.
