STALHAM Artistic Roller Skating Club competed in the 2008 Kent Artistic Roller Dance Competition.

A team of three skaters attended the two day event held at Mote Park Leisure Centre, Maidstone, Kent.

The first day saw Elena Dickenson achieving bronze for OSP (up to and including preliminary), an impressive fourth place for elements (non-medallist) and fifth place in the Jolan Cup for free skating (non-medallist).

Shannon Hudson won bronze for her first elements event (non-medallist) and also achieved fourth place for free skating in the Expressions Trophy.

An ecstatic Elena brought home gold for the club on the second day of the event, skating against 15 other skaters in the JT Trophy for solo dance (non-medallist) while Shannon and fellow skater Charlotte Gislam achieved sixth and seventh places respectively for their solo dance events.

Elena also gained a very pleasing eighth place in open standard solo dance (14-25 years). The girls skated as Stalham Starlights for two team events achieving sixth place for the Super Fun Teams and eighth place for the FT Trophy solo dance team event.

Coach Kerry-Asta Pickering, who accompanied the girls for the competition, also skated to a high standard and achieved gold for open standard solo dance (25 years and over).

The club's next competition is the FARS Spring Solo in February.
