Jamie makes his mark by the sea
Sunday's East Coast 10k at Great Yarmouth attracted a field of nearly 500 runners. Amongst them were 15 North Norfolk Beach Runners.
After a wet early morning the weather relented just before the start and Jamie Seamark put in an extremely quick run for 20th place in 36:58.
Chris Parker looked to have made a strong recovery from his recent injury troubles as he clocked 38:18 for 30th place with Phil Quantrill not far behind to join Chris and Jamie as second male team prizewinners.
For Yarmouth's Richard Blake it was almost a home fixture and he showed his liking for the course with an extremely impressive sub 40 minute run to take the first prize in the M60 category.
It was a welcome return to the race circuit for Paul Muffett, who has been dogged by injury since his hugely successful run of form a couple of years ago. Paul could be very satisfied with his time of 41:02, a long way from his best but a huge step in the right direction.
There was a gap of over six minutes before the next Beach Runner, Ray Clayden, finished, closely followed by Brenda Kinch who continued her fantastic year with a pb of 48:58 for second F60.
Also amongst the prizes were Alex Fraser and Andrea Osborne who took third places in the M65 and F55 age groups. Tony Heath comfortably broke 50 minutes and Lindsay Stewart Kitchen did the same despite, suffering the indignity of the race organisers putting him in the wrong category!

Malcolm Ball finished in the top half of the field, even though he is now comfortably nearer 80 than 70. Also getting round in good style were Emma Dennis, Rob Osborne and Trine Middleton.
Emma's spirited run helped to bring in the second female team prize for the Beach Runners in conjunction with Brenda Kinch and Andrea Osborne to complete a great day for the club.
