HOLT'S second team the Owls won at Watton in a Norfolk Merit Table One fixture.
Watton played with the slope and the wind in the first half, and although Holt took an early lead with a penalty, it was the home side who made most of the pitch and the elements to build a half-time lead of 17-3.
With the ground and the elements in their favour for the second half, Holt gradually began to exert their ability to throw the ball about and began to reduce the deficit. They scored two converted tries to level the scores at 17-all and then converted a penalty to gain the lead at 20-17 with 10 minutes remaining.
They scored a final try (unconverted), having won the second half 22-0.
Holt's first team had a week off as their original opponents cancelled, but on Saturday they resume their league campaign with a home game against Thurston, who have the same 50 per cent record as their hosts.
