HOLT UNITED bounced back from a poor run in impressive fashion when they won 3-1 at Anglian Combination Division One high-flyers Poringland Wanderers.

The Owls went into Saturday's clash in desperate need of a win after slipping to within a point of the relegation zone. And they got just the result they needed thanks to goals from Andrew Hanby, James Wright and Lee Clarke.

The win against a side who had started the day in second position took Holt up to the heady heights of 11th in the table, but there is still plenty of work to be done as they prepare for an immediate re-match with Poringland on home territory this Saturday (2pm).

n Aylsham missed out on a chance to go top of Division Two when they were held to a goalless draw by Bungay. With morning leaders Attleborough left idle by the weather Thetford Rovers were the ones to take advantage thanks to a 6-0 win over Hempnall Reserves. Aylsham are at home to Norfolk Junior Cup semi-finalists Harleston on Saturday (2).
