Panthers Ladies 3

Norwich City Ladies II 2

This Premier League match was one of the most exciting Panthers have played this season up.

Norwich City made the stronger start and the Panthers defence had to work hard to prevent a goal. City had a goal disallowed and this was the wake-up call that Panthers needed. Their first goal came from Helen Morter when she fired home a cross from the right wing from Tracy Toyn.

The second half saw two quick goals come from City, both from penalty corner shots. Panthers' second goal was a peach, with Rachel Mayes passing to Gail Rudd who put in a superb cross field ball to the speedy Georgina Stannett who ran down the right wing and into the circle and scored past the oncoming keeper.

Panthers had several penalty corners which were superbly saved. With only two minutes remaining they were awarded a free-hit just outside the circle, Zoe Gotts played the ball into the circle and it was like a game of ping pong until Gemma Rolph finally managed to get the ball over the line. Panthers' player of the match: Lou Longhorn.

Harleston Ladies V 1 North Walsham Ladies II 1

North Walsham travelled to Harleston knowing that this would be a tough fixture. The defence worked tirelessly in the first half, with Harleston having the best chances, but it was 0-0 at the break.

North Walsham started the second half strongly and were awarded a short corner after only two minutes. For the second successive week, Denise O'Callaghan converted with a cracking strike. From this point, Harleston pressed hard and brought a great save from Louise Potter. But it was Bobby Pye who made an even more spectacular save with her stick.

Unfortunately, with only 20 minutes remaining, Alice Clohisey took a dreadful bang on her knee and had to be carried off. North Walsham found themselves on the back foot, especially when a defender stopped the ball on the goal line with a foot giving away a penalty stroke – however, Lou Potter made a great save. Things went from bad to worse, when team captain Denise Wait, fell and twisted an already injured knee. The visitors had to change their shape and with three minutes remaining Harleston managed to equalise.

North Walsham's first team won 2-1 at Ipswich and East Suffolk in the East League.

Reepham 1 Norwich City III 1

Reepham entertained the Division leaders Norwich City III and came up against strong opposition. In a hard fought game played in great spirit Reepham were pleased with their share of the points.

City broke the deadlock just before the break but Reepham put their disappointment behind them and equalised when Ellie Rivett ripped through the heart of City's defence and calmly took the ball around the last defender before scoring.

Keeper Carina Carter made two exceptional saves to kept Reepham in the game.
