North Walsham 4 Sprowston 2

North Walsham beat second placed Sprowston in a well contested East League battle at windy Cromer.

Walsham opened the scoring with a well taken shot from Ellen Vanlint early in the first half. Sprowston responded and equalised shortly after. The game was end to end, with Walsham going back in front when another good corner routine was finished by Hannah Catling.

The second half saw more of the same, with both teams going close. Sprowston equalised with a good short corner routine but this seemed to spur Walsham on and they began to dominate. The pressure told when, after a good build-up down the right, Lucy Spencer swept in her first of the game to give Walsham the lead.

Sprowston tried to respond but some excellent defending by Julie Mercer and Jane Delph kept them at bay. Walsham continued to look dangerous on the break and this told when Catling played in Spencer for her second to clinch the three points for Walsham two minutes from time.

Pelicans 3 North Walsham II 3

North Walsham travelled to King's Lynn hoping for a repeat performance of the home match at the beginning of the season.

Walsham found themselves with most of the possession in the opening quarter but failed to capitalise. However, with 20 minutes on the clock, Frankie Howard weaved through and scored a great individual goal, and within five minutes this was followed by a superb strike by Denise O'Callaghan from a short corner.

After the break Walsham pushed hard, and a great individual effort by Frankie increased the lead. However, within only three minutes, Walsham gave away a penalty stroke when the umpire deemed that the keeper had taken a Pelicans player out – and this was duly converted. This seemed to raise the pace from the hosts and they were awarded a second penalty stroke when a Walsham defender stopped the ball on the line with a foot. Once again, Pelicans converted.

This shook the away team and Pelicans pushed forward and scored an equaliser. Although there had chances Walsham failed to score again and came away with a draw.

Panthers 4 Evergreens 0

Panthers came up against tough opposition in the form of Evergreens in this Marshall Motor Group Norfolk Premier League match.

Evergreens started strongly but Panthers settled into the game and were soon awarded a penalty corner, with a strike from the top of the circle by Zoe Gotts being deflected in off a defender's stick.

Panthers second goal was a very well worked, with Becky Hart hitting the ball out of defence to Georgina Stannett who with Helen Morter worked her way through before passing to Helen Morter, who scored. The third Panthers goal was scored in the same manner but this time with the passing moves between Lou Longhorn and Zoe Gotts, with Longhorn putting in the final strike.

It was through hard work and excellent defending that Panthers went into half-time 3-0 up. The second half saw Evergreens really pressing and it was some excellent keeping by Natalie Brooks and a ball saved off the line by Becky Hart that made sure the Panthers kept a clean sheet.

Panthers' final goal came from a well worked penalty corner routine with Gotts passing back to Morter for her to fire home her second.

Reepham 1 Sprowston II 2

Despite scoring early Reepham went down to a strong Sprowston side.

Reepham caught their visitors quickly on the counter-attack when a direct ball out was moved out to the right and then played into the circle to find Josie Harris in the middle to slot home. Sprowston replied with the equaliser from a short corner and added what proved to be their winner before half-time.
