It has been a great season for North Walsham men's hockey teams. In Division Five (North East), the second team finished as Champions with 51 points, clear of second placed Harleston Magpies who were also promoted. The team's mean defence conceded just 31 goals in 20 games whilst 77 were netted at the other end. The team has come close to promotion in the two previous seasons but have been agonisingly edged out on the last match on both occasions.
The clubs first team were also promoted, but missed out on the Division Four North East title in an amazing game which saw them come back from 5-0 down at half-time to snatch a point in the 5-5 draw away at Ipswich. A sixth goal would have seen them crowned champions but despite a frantic finish it just wasn't to be!
