Happy Hammers on the coast!

Happisburgh Hammers are celebrating a superb first season in the North East Norfolk Youth League.
A new football club that was formed last year from an U11s team, the Hammers won the Division Two title in impressive style and are now looking forward to making a challenge in Division One.
The club prides itself on being open and family focused, with all parents sharing and caring for each of the players within the team - as well as involving each other’s siblings. The players have been together for over three years and while a few have come and gone, the core team and the spirit amongst them is stronger than ever.
The intention at Happisburgh Hammers is to not only only create a place for youngsters to enjoy and improve their football together but to spend time at social events together on a regular basis.
The parents have also pulled together to make more than just match days and training happen, with fund-raising success maintaining a financial stability for thee club.
The team is made up of Mushy Cornell (captain), Sid Hodds, Russell Hopkins, Dan Winfield, Billy Horrocks, Aaron Slater, Bradley Beales, Thomas Moore, Tommy Miller, Oliver Cremer, Jack Rose and Freddy Gibbons.
“It’s our first season as a new club and we are so pleased at how well the boys have done,” said treasurer Caroline Hodds. “The club is run by parents of the players which makes us like one big family. Becoming league champions is a fantastic acheivement, we cannot be more proud, it has been down to 100pc teamwork and commitment from all the children and parents.”
Parent Darryl Hopkins added: “They boys have a strong bond as a group and watching them win their division title was the best thing that could have happened after taking the step to form our own team.”
