Wroxham Reserves lifted the Sterry Cup despite a late charge by Cromer Town, who were Premier Division runners-up before Saturday's 2-2 draw at Brandon.

Despite being docked six points, the Crabs' reserve squad sealed promotion in Division Four and may yet finish champions if Bradenham slip.

Sheringham, who carried the league flag all the way to Carrow Road following a glorious Norfolk Senior Cup run, may have fallen at the last fence, beaten 3-1 by Wroxham. However, the Shannocks were the first combination club to make the prestigious final since St Andrews' apprearance in 1990/91. It was a grand send-off for Sheringham's retiring manager Kowalyk.

Sheringham and North Walsham are in direct competition for a top six finish and the outcome between the local rivals could hinge on the result from Saturday's local derby between the two at Weybourne Road.

North Walsham Reserves have truly excelled in becoming champions of Division Five, without losing a single game as well as being top scorers throughout the six divisions wth 111 goals.

In Division One, Holt's promotion still hangs in the air, with no official announcement so far, although touchline talk suggests two teams will be relegated from the Premier Division and, with Lowestfot Reserves going out, the only interpretation is that three will go up from Division One.

In Division Two, Reepham Town will finish midway in the table but luckless Aylsham Wanderers are relegated.

Hoveton Wherrymen have enjoyed a hugely successful season for they are promoted, along with Gorleston Reserves, and could yet finish as champions if the young Greens lose points from their final games.

The Wherrymen also made the semi-finals of the Norfolk Junior Cup so, beyond doubt, this has proved to be a most exciting 10 months.
