Runton United's attempt to reach another Norfolk Junior Cup final ended on Friday night when the Walcott Lighthouse Inn NEN side lost 1-0 at Fakenham Town Reserves at the quarter-final stage.
The all-important goal came early in the second period and, according to Neil Whitworth Runton's secretary, the result was just about right and his side could not really have any complaints.
In the league, Cromer Youth Old Boys are the new leaders of the Sanders Coaches Division One after they visited North Walsham A and with Euan Neave notching four goals and Chris Toyn adding a brace ran out 6-0 winners. Aylsham A, thanks to goals from Edward Griffiths (2) and Ashley Marsh, beat Southrepps 3-0.
Gimingham Res, at home to Erpingham Res, won 10-1 while East Ruston returned from their visit to Holt Colts 7-2 winners (Jake Brown 4, Andy Rice 2, Sam Boddington).
