Holt United Football club held their annual meeting at the Sports Centre clubhouse last Wednesday when chairman Andy Turner congratulated all three teams and their managers on an excellent season.

On and off the field he felt the season had been a great success, with a strong chance that the first team will be in the Anglian Combination Premier Division next season.

If they were to achieve promotion, he saw no reason that with more commitment and the backing of new sponsor Chris Mundy, that they could establish themselves in the Premier Division.

Following the secretary and treasurer's reports the following positions were filled: club president Roly High,

vice-president Arthur Lewis, chairman Andy Turner,

vice-chairman Daniel Rouse, secretary Bryan Owen, treasurer John Withington. General committee: Ray Moore, Bob Moore, Marcus Mears, Robin Thaxter, Mike Smith, Paul Sanders and Justyn Goff.

First team manager, Jim Blandford, reserves manager Chris Cude, A-team Kevin Webb.

In another major move by the club, it was agreed to form a fourth team to compete on Saturdays.

With the Holt United Youth set getting stronger every year, with an age group at every level, there was a need for a team to be formed to bridge the gap between youth and adult football.

They will be called Holt United Colts and have applied to join the North East Norfolk League. They will be managed by Paul Sanders.

The club has arranged a prestigious friendly against a Boston United X1 from the Blue Square North League. It will be played on Sunday, July 13 with a 1pm kick-off.

Club supporters were urged to make every effort to attend, as the money raised from the match is going to a good cause - the Gary Graveling

Memorial Fund.
