Wroxham rose up the Ridgeons Premier Division table to seventh after gaining a 2-0 win over bottom team Harwich & Parkeston.

A corner from Shaun Howes provided the first goal, which went in the net without another touch after the goalkeeper was distracted by the sheer numbers of players battling for the ball.

Despite waves of attacks with chances for Cook, Paynter, Lemmon and Spriggs half-time arrived with no further score.

In a more even second half Cook went close twice before Owen Paynter got free, rounded the keeper and slotted home the second goal.

On Saturday, Wroxham entertain Haverhill.

On Tuesday night Wroxham won 2-1 after extra time in their League Cup tie at Dereham.

Olly King ended a superb counter-attack to give the Yachtsmen an early lead but Robbie Harris headed an equaliser nine minutes from normal time.

The winner was a 25-yard blast by Steve Spriggs.
