Cromer Town returned to competitive action after a summer of turmoil on Saturday afternoon.

The Crabs were beaten 4-1 in their Anglian Combination Division One opener at Watton - but showed some promise by 'drawing' the second half after being 3-0 down at the interval.

It was a first win of the season for newly promoted Watton, with the goals coming from Aiden Rayner, Andy Rayner, Ty Bond and Nathan Lawes. Ben Dagless got the visitors' consolation.

Manager Jordan Kemp will now be turning his attention to Cromer's first home game of the season against Loddon United at Cabbell Park on Saturday (2.30pm).

Loddon are the one side belowe the Crabs in the table, having lost their first three games, so the match could provide the hosts with an opportunity to record their first league win since the closing stages of the 2015-16 season.

The early First Division table is topped by Sheringham who won 6-2 away at Loddon. The hosts were undone by a hat-trick from Chris Fuller as well as goals from Ben Boyce, Tim Carey and Tom Hislop. Matt Hare and Shane Smith scored for Loddon.

The Shannocks, who have taken 10 points from our games, travel to newly promoted UEA on Saturday.

Mundford returned from Aylsham with a 4-0 win as Ian Fancett (2), Ben Coe and Luke Cole scored for the Stags.

North Walsham beat relegated Kirkley and Pakefield Reserves 4-1 at Greens Road for their first win of the season, with Colin Perry, Dale Wilton, Ben Graver and Tom Whiley getting the Angels' goals. Lewis Durbridge scored for Kirkley.

North Walsham are away to Attleborough on Saturday while Aylsham visit Scole.

In the Premier Division Stalham had an excellent 2-1 win at Hellesdon. Daniel Duffield and Jordan Tipple scored the goals with Glen Spooner replying for The Dons.

Hellesdon goalkeeper Tom Coombe was taken to hospital during the game with a nasty head injury.
