ACLE were the Alliance Premier Division visitors to the Norton Warnes ground. They arrived with just one point between the sides but left having moved up to second, 17 points clear of Cromer, who are now fifth.

Cromer won the toss and Tom Davies elected to bat, opening with Rayno Arendse who made a quick 28 from 24 balls before being bowled by Newman. Davies, Elliott, Charlwood and Brown were dismissed for very few runs and after 18 overs Cromer were struggling on 66-5.

Jez Wright and Michael Warnes steadied the Cromer innings, batting for 19 overs and putting on 74 runs before Wright was lbw to Newman having made a very valuable 22.

With 10 overs remaining Cromer were 149-7 and in the final overs Warnes reached his half-century and with some big shots at the end of the innings guided Cromer to 189 before he was the last wicket to fall in the final over having made 68.

Newman finished with 4-42 with Lee and Porter each taking two wickets.

In the reply, Porter aimed to get the Acle innings off to a rapid start, scoring a quick 31 before being bowled by James Craske at 62-3 and Ward and Huggins were together. They put on 125 to virtually secure victory. The partnership was broken when Ward as out for 58. Huggins (62 not out) hit the winning runs in the 49th over as Acle won by six wickets.

Arendse and Craske took two wickets a piece. Craske continued his form with the ball, going for just 21 from nine overs. That, and Warnes' magnificent effort with the bat, were the only real positives for skipper Davies to take from the game.
