CROMER Town continued their win-ning run on Tuesday night with a fine 4-2 home win over Sprowston Athletic. Their marksmen were Ryan Honeyman, Tom Davies (2) and Darren Terrington, statistically keeping the Crabs in the title mix.

They entertain Beccles Town on Saturday.

Blofield United 2, Cromer Town 3

THESE were an excellent three points for Cromer. United were punished for wasting several opportunities, and it leaves the Crabs looking hot favourites for second spot in the Dolphin Autos Anglian Combination title race. It also kept Wroxham Reserves on their toes as they still needed five points from their final three games.

Cromer made the tough trip to Blofield looking to put right the awful display three weeks before against Halvergate. Everyone was available except David Harwood (work), although he should be available for all the remaining games, writes Richard Cox.

The Crabs started brightly, put Blofield on the back foot and on 10 minutes took the lead. The ball went to Tom Davies at the back post. He headed across goal, the ball came back to him and he fired into the roof of the net.

A lack in concentration resulted in a United penalty for handball. Danny McKail converted.

Chris O'Brien had a goal ruled out for offside and then headed wide. McKail broke quickly down the right, he switched the ball to an unmarked Ollie Christie, who seemed almost certain to at least test Parsons. But Shaun Cameron got across with a brilliant block.

Blofield had another goal disallowed before they took the lead. The ball was played over the top into the run of Christie, who put a low cross to McKail who got his second with a simple tap-in. McKail then controlled well but his shot was kept out by Parsons' feet.

At the start of the second half Parsons scuffed his clearance straight to O'Brien, but he fired wide. McKail then blasted into the side netting. Darren Terrington made a good run forward but shot wide. Paul Ottolangu shot from 35 yards but Parsons pushed it away.

On the hour Ryan Honeyman came on in centre midfield, Simon Durrant went up front, Tom Davies moved to the left wing and Jamie Hunton left the field.

McKail found himself in loads of space but he drilled over, and Parsons kept out O'Brien.

In the 72nd minute Cromer equalised. Terrington flicked the ball on to Durrant, who controlled well and fired into the bottom corner.

The final minutes saw Cromer get on top and just moments before the final whistle the Crabs grabbed the winning goal. Neil Bugdale's corner went to Terrington at the front post, who glanced the ball into the back of the net.
