Cromer FC part company with manager Hackleton

Cromer Town have parted company with new manager Lee Hackleton just three games into the new season.
The former Great Yarmouth Town boss arrived at Cabbell Park during the summer, with the club hoping the appointment would herald a bright new era.
But after suffering two defeats in three games at the start of the new season in the Premier Division of the Almary Green Anglian Combination, the club issued a statement yesterday saying Hackleton’s services had been dispensed with.
It read: “Cromer Town Football Club have today parted company with manager Lee Hackleton.
“After an indifferent start to the season the club informed Lee of the decision earlier on today, with the club feeling that things have not progressed as hoped.
“All at Cromer Town Football Club would like to thank Lee for all his efforts over the past three months and wish him all the best in the future.”
Former Crabs manager Chris Wigger will be in caretaker charge for today’s trip to newly promoted Harleston Town.
Wigger, who guided the club to the title during his successful spell in charge, stood down last summer, with the club later having to battle for their very survival before Chris Carey stepped in to manage the side.
Bearing in mind the problems both on and off the field, Carey did well to stabilise the situation with a new-look squad, with Cromer going on to record a highly respectable top half finish.
But when the manager’s position was advertised at the end of the season it was Hackleton who got the job.
His first game in charge was a tough one at Acle United, with the defending champions cruising to a 5-0 win.
The Crabs then beat struggling neighbours Sheringham 3-0 at Cabbell Park, but a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of newly promoted Long Stratton proved to be the final straw for club officials.
