Tom Davies' Cromer First XI bounced back in style from the previous week's reverse with a six-wicket win over Norwich and Coltishall Wanderers in the Norfolk Alliance Premier Division.

Cromer restricted the hosts to 214-9 off their 50 overs, Deano Elliott leading the attack with 3-40 and pace duo Michael Warnes and Kristian Dingle Regis claiming two wickets each to leave Cromer eyeing the points at tea.

And it was veteran opener Kieron Tuck, back from his career-threatening hamstring niggle, who showed the visitors' intent with a sumptuous 63, before Warnes (40no), Ollie Kimber with 26 and Dave Turner with 24 chipped in to leave Cromer on the brink.

Skipper Davies (25no) pulled for four through midwicket to bring up the win and seal 23 great points for the Crabs.

At the home of cricket, Alan Lithins' Second XI consolidated their lead at the top of Division Five with a solid win over Wanderers' second string.

Seamers Paul Winterbone and veteran Chris Carey claimed two wickets and wily spinner Peter Gascoyne also snared two as Wanderers struggled to

214-9.

Then Lithins, with a quality 48, and Kevin Neale, with a superb unbeaten 64, starred with the bat, and with Gascoyne reaching his own fifty off the last ball the points were Cromer's and promotion to Division Four one step closer.
