Brooke were the visitors to the Norton Warnes on Saturday. Cromer won the toss and elected to bat first.

Chris Carey went quite early on and then Ollie Kimber fell to the bowling of Wills after looking good for his 28.

The partnership of Richard Charlwood and Tom Davies then moved the score along nicely for the home side. The stand, which totalled 91, was eventually broken when Wills got Charlwood leg before after the Cromer batsman had just past his fifty, finishing on 53.

Davies continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over and moved beyond his half century and soon after Anthony Robinson joined him at the crease. Robinson took the attack to the Brooke bowlers, finding the boundary regularly and Davies' score was closing in on a hundred.

With one over remaining Davies was on strike on 91. He hit the first ball of the over for six, the next ball saw Robinson sacrifice his wicket in order Davies to remain on strike, as Robinson was run out after contributing an excellent 32. Davies would reach his century and finish unbeaten on 100.

Nudd and Wills were the pick of the Brooke bowlers, both taking two wickets.

In response Cromer took early wickets with four of the top five falling for less than 20 and the visitors were then on the back foot But the stand between Wills and Nudd would be a thorn in the side of Cromer. The pair hung around and put on 80 for the sixth wicket.

Nudd went on to reach his half century before being dismissed for 53 by Dean Elliott.

When this partnership was broken there was just one plan in the minds of the Brooke batsmen and that was to block out for a losing draw. Cromer were able to grab a couple more wickets but the not out batsmen of Babington and Westgate left the North Norfolk side frustrated.

Sam Baxter was the pick of the bowlers picking up 3-56 whileAnthony Robinson and James Craske got two wickets each.

Skipper Tom Davies said after the game 'It is a bit frustrating not to get those final two wickets to get the win but we can't have too many complaints about an 18 point winning draw, and we now look forward to a big local derby top of the table clash at Bradfield this weekend.'
