Cromer made the trip to Bradenham looking to build on last week's home victory. Upon their arrival they were presented with a damp wicket that was surely going to favour the bowlers.

When the game finally got under way after a 45 minute delay it was Cromer who batted, having been put in by the hosts.

Chris Carey and Peter Gascoyne opened up and early indications were that runs weren't going to be straightforward to come by. Dewing dismissed Carey in the third over for just seven, bringing Richard Charlwood to the crease. He and Gascoyne were together for a while but could only add 24 before the stand was broken when Fox got rid of Gascoyne for 15.

Tom Davies was next in and began his innings with three boundaries but was then bowled by Moody who also picked up the next two wickets, one of which was Dean Elliott who had hit a valuable 23.

Cromer were now 94 for 5 from 33 overs and while wickets were falling at the other end Charlwood was constructing a very good innings. His defence was strong and he was punishing the wayward deliveries. He was closing in on his half century when the sixth wicket fell, that of Anthony Robinson (15).

Shortly after the Cromer No. 3 did reach his 50. Unfortunately he was unable to remain until the end of the innings and his superb effort came to an end on 61 when he was caught off the bowling of Dewing.

There was a little bit of a wag from the Cromer tail and they were bowled out in the final over for 169, with Dewing finishing with best figures of 4 for 35 and Moody picking up three wickets.

Having put Cromer into bat the hosts would have been disappointed to concede such a total, and Cromer were more than confident they would be able to defend their score and bowl out Bradenham.

The Bradenham innings made a slow start as they went at around two runs per over. Opener Taylor made 21 but this was the only telling contribution from any of the top five and the home side found themselves 33 for 4 from 19 overs, with Elliott taking threeof these wickets.

There was however some resistance from Blakey. Coming in at the number 6 the Bradenham batsman took the attack to the Cromer bowlers and he smashed his way to a very quick fire half century. In hitting some quick runs he also improved the run rate of his side and suddenly there was a chance they could reach the 170 target.

But this hope was soon taken away as Robinson got the key wicket of Blakey thanks to an excellent catch from Sam Baxter. Blakey had hit 54, which included seven fours and three sixes. The dismissal of Blakey pretty much secured victory for Cromer who went on to collect the remaining wickets to seal a 59 run victory as Bradenham were all out for 110 with 12 overs remaining.

Dean Elliott finished with excellent figures of 6 for 34 as Cromer picked up another brilliant victory.

Cromer were patient with the bat in what were difficult batting conditions. Charlwood's 61 was worth much more given the situation and there were some priceless contributions from other Cromer batsmen. Then in the field Elliott shone with the ball taking six Bradenham wickets, two of which came with the aid of fabulous catches from Baxter and Luke Barrett.

Cromer, now fourth in the Alliance Division One table, are at home to Dereham on Saturday.
