Bradfield won the toss and batted on a good looking wicket that turned out to be quite slow and batsmen had to graft hard for their runs against a tight attack.

David Register provided stubborn resistance with a workmanlike 51 until the umpires strangely gave him out stumped off a no ball.

Bidewell looked in good form but was cut off for 26 when looking to accelerate.

Abbs then pushed it along with a run a ball 26 until he was run out and skipper Robinson also made a quick 21 but perished caught on the boundary which left Reynolds (10 not out) and Bush to claw the visitors up to 195-9.

Bradfield had to start of well knowing the pace that Old Buckenham's openers like to go at, but this was not easy with the slow wicket and the ability of their bowlers to move the ball around.

Robinson struck first with the second ball of the innings getting Fudge smartly caught by Bidewell at point and then the quick scoring Mann lbw in his second over.

Bush worked hard at the other end and took the vital wicket of Australian Jarvis for a first ball duck. Then a change of bowling saw Scannell pick up Perry for 21 when looking well set.

Yarham struck after drinks getting Austin caught for 0, Buckenham now reeling at 46-4. The home side now decided to dig in searching for a launch pad and Lawrence nearly gave them that base with some aggressive batting but Robinson summoned some extra pace and late swing in the hot conditions and removed the last three with the help of a run out dismissing Old Buckenham for 143. Lawrence ending 35 not out.

This performance showed Bradfield just what they are capable of and skipper Robinson praised the effort of the fielding and giving a special mention to Scannel for his tidy 2-26.
