Cromer's Dennis Cousins was installed as the new Bowls England men's president after the BE annual dinner at the New Connaught Rooms in London.

'It's a great honour to hold this position, albeit it's a very different role to the one I thought I was letting myself in for,' said Cousins, clearly referring to the fact that, since he started out on the presidential ladder, the national men's and women's associations have merged.

He takes over the reins from Suffolk's Cliff Waterman, and follows in the footsteps of Norfolk colleagues Alex Page and Dennis Grint, who held office with the English Bowling Association (EBA) in 1950 and 2001.
