North Walsham (pictured) triumphed spectacularly in the national Egham Trophy final, recording one of the highest wins in recent years when beating Bournemouth 86-39 at Desborough, Northants.
They won on all four rinks played, most spectacularly when Ian Wones, supported by Ann Baker, Ivy Buller and Stephen Ellis, piled up points relentlessly to beat Peter Ward 22-7.
Marty Christmas led his rink of Esther Withers, Linda Blake and Bryan Sadler to a 17-16 victory against England international Martyn Sekjer - winning on only nine ends, but taking a five on the 14th and never conceding more than two.
Brian Taylor skipped Christine Webb, Sheila Leighton and Trevor Webb to a 17-12 success against Chris Daniels, winning 13 of the 20 ends. And Phillip Barr's team of Betty Rossi, Carole Neave and Jason Rope had two threes and a four in their 22-7 victory over Clive Bannister.
North Walsham were not quite able to complete a double after losing 81-77 to Egham in the semi-finals of the Yetton Trophy. Egham lost 85-85 to North Wilts in the final.
In the EWIBA competitions, North Walsham's Christine Webb and Jayne Roylance reached the semi-finals of the pairs, but there suffered a 13-11 defeat to eventual winners Nottingham. Another Walsham duo, Ann Baker and Sheila Leighton, qualified in the unbadged pairs but went out 22-19 to Tilbury after a 20-19 win over Erdington Court.
