Cromer go into an exciting weekend of cricket looking to bounce back after suffering a comprehensive defeat at Fakenham in the Premier Division of the Norfolk Alliance on Saturday.
Keegan Monahan-Fairlie's side were too strong on the day for the visitors, with their six-wicket win keeping the pressure firmly on leaders Downham Town.
The match had an early finish, with Cromer being dismissed for just 102 as Toby Hood followed up his figures of 6-9 the previous week with 4-19 this time around and Ashley Jarvis took 4-33. Matthew Warnes played the best knock for Cromer, making 35.
Only four wickets then fell in a straightforward run chase as Cromer slipped down to fourth in the table after a second successive defeat.
It's still been a positive first half of the season however and there are a couple of mouthwatering matches to look forward to this weekend.
Tom Davies' side at home to Ashmanhaugh and Barton Wanderers in the league on Saturday before travelling to Manor Park, the home of Norfolk cricket, to take on East Anglian Premier League side Horsford in quarter-finals of the Carter Cup. In the other ties Swardeston visit Diss, Norwich travel to Sprowston and Fakenham visit Old Buckenham.
It will be a big occasion for all the Cromer players, especially brothers Matthew and Michael Warnes who are both former Horsford players.
Cromer A had a good day, beating Bradenham A by four wickets to move up to fourth in Division Six. They finished on 235-6 after their visitors made 231-8.
