Charlotte Pollard from Cromer is the new Norfolk Under-14 Badminton champion.

The tournament was held at the Open Academy Sports Centre in Norwich and Charlotte turned on the style to come away with the trophy.

Charlotte, 13, also won the girls’ doubles with her regular partner Izzy Sellors from Norwich.

The Gresham’s School youngster has been progressing quickly since taking up the game and now plays above her age group for the county under-16 team. She played her part as the team finished 2016 on a real high note by beating Cambridgeshire 20-0.

The other Norfolk players involved in the impressive victory were Louis Davis, Aruneesh Lakshmanavelu, Charlie Wakefield, Harry Wakefield, Jess Bateman, Molly Crombie and Caitlin Parfitt.
