It HAS been pretty quiet on the racing front for Reepham Runners over the winter months.

Dominic Blake had an exceptional finish at the Norwich Half Marathon, being the first local runner in sixth place in an incredible 1:16:05. Other finishers were Paul Robinson 1:33:42, Chris Edwards 1:37:49, Ben Houchen 1:41:36, Chris Cox 1:51:04, Rich Cadman 1:55:34 and Rich Bulman 1:58:59. Dominic is now training for the London Marathon along with Richard Cadman, Amy Tate, Paul Robinson and Jude Durrant.

Nick Bowden and Philip Cooper ventured further afield to Mytholmroyd, near Halifax for a Fell race. Nick was 51st and Phil 71st.

A great morning was had by the ladies at the 10th anniversary of the Buxton 5k (Natalie Southgate 31:25, Sue King 35:49, Donna King 36:13).

Phil Cooper, Paul Robinson, Ben Houchen, Lisa Godwin and Jude Durrant participated in Neil Featherby's Boxing Day Hare and Hounds. Neil was the hare and set off cross country marking an unknown course to the participants. A distance of 7.5m in 1hrs 40 wouldn't normally be good but on this course the Reepham contingent were pleased

New Year's Day was a perfect day for a 10k and Jude finished in 48:27 which was a good start to the new Year. At the event there was the prize presentation for the Norfolk Postal Marathon Championship and Richard Bulman got a county Silver in his age category. In the Runners Centre Grand Prix the club obtained two prizes, Julie Dilrew was third in her age category and Jude Durrant was second in hers.

On February 5 Reepham Runners are hosting a 10k cross country event at Whitwell Station starting at 10am. See the club's website for more information (reephamrunners.webs.com/crosscountry.htm).
