A group of intrepid sea anglers braved a raging blizzard on Weybourne beach last Sunday to compete in the Holt SAC memorial open event and they were rewarded with fair catches.
Winner was John Lacey of Yarmouth with a mixed bag of 8lb 10oz followed by Keith Morley of Kessingland with 5lb 9oz and Tony Thomas, Sheringham, with 5lb.
“I've never fished in such awful conditions,” declared Thomas. “There were six inches of snow all along the beach and this stinging snow blizzard driving in from the north-west.”
