North Walsham Town entertained Bungay in a game both felt they needed to win to maintain outside hopes of promotion from Division One of the Anglian Combination.

However it was the visitors who took the points after scoring twice in the last five minutes to complete a 3-0 victory.

The visitors looked the busier side early on, with Walsham struggling to get their passing game going on a heavy pitch, although an early corner saw an AJ Johnson effort saved.

However, the majority of the initial chances fell to Bungay, with a corner being cleared off the line by Matty Payne before the following corner seeing the visiting striker score unmarked at the near post.

With an again changed team, Walsham found the game hard-going and Bungay enjoyed the better possession for the rest of the half.

The second-half began as the first finished with Bungay again starting quickly, and seeing an early goal disallowed for offside. This lifted Walsham who were now competing all over the pitch but after 55 minutes they lost centre-back AJ Johnson to injury, and he was replaced by Ryan Clarke.

Walsham were growing into the game now, and fellow substitute Ben Moore headed just over from an Adam Johnson free-kick. At the other end Jake Munday saved from the Bungay striker after he had broken through.

Walsham were now growing in confidence and Adam Johnson was linking well with Liam Clarke, and then his substitute Alex Dyball on the right-wing and creating problems for the Bungay defence, and from a resulting corner, dam Johnson just missed connecting with the ball.

With 10 minutes remaining an under hit pass resulted in a late challenge, again from Ryan Clarke and he was dismissed for a second bookable offence.

This gave Walsham a mountain to climb but rather than sit back they continued to attack, only to be caught on the break, twice in the last five minutes.

This was a brave performance from the Angels and special mention goes to Sam Grady who gave a solid performance yet again, and Adam Johnson who played well in an unfamiliar position. On Saturday Walsham travel to Wymondham.
