North Walsham Town made it two wins in the space of five days in Division One of the Anglian Combination on Saturday when they beat Hindringham 3-1 at Greens Road. Walsham were boosted by the return of David Harwood and again included young Tom Wylie, who has impressed recently.

Walsham started brightly, with David Harwood and AJ Johnson bossing the midfield, and both Liam Clarke and Dale Wilton causing Hindringham problems on the wings.

Wilton had the first chance, with a header going wide at the far post, before Colm McGilway volleyed over following a Walsham free-kick. The deadlock was broken in the 15th minute when Harwood fired into the bottom corner to give Walsham a deserved lead.

Walsham continued to press but were caught cold when Hindringham won the ball back in their own half and skipped through some missed challenges before their player fired home..

This saw Walsham up their game again and from an AJ Johnson cross, Wilton headed back across the goal for McGilway to fire home and restore the Walsham lead. The second half saw a more determined Hindringham, with their first attack seeing an effort go just wide, with Walsham responding through an AJ Johnson shot also going wide before the visitors saw another effort go just over.

With the game becoming more open substitutions were made, with Ben Moore, Wylie and Connor Kerry introduced.

Kerry twice went through for Walsham, only to shoot wide before Jake Munday denied the Hindringham striker with a fine save.

With time running out, Kerry was put through and this time he made sure and fired into the Hindringham goal to give Walsham a 3-1 lead. With time almost up a Moore free-kick saw Wilton head over.

This was a good performance from Walsham, who passed the ball well in the first half and ground it out when needed in the second-half. Clarke again played well, as did the ever-young duo of McGilway and Harwood.

Walsham are at home again on Saturday, with Mundford the visitors (2.30pm). All support will be greatly appreciated.
