GOLF: Hats off to Mundesley's Alex Carter who is the club's lowest handicapper – playing off four – and has just been recognised for an outstanding year at the annual trophy presentation. The 23-year-old won the scratch club championship, the Hoare Cup for the singles knockout, the Arnold Roy Cup, which he won with a gross 65 net 58, and the Mark Atkinson Cup for the lowest gross score of the year. Carter is planning to compete in some of the order of merit events next year. Among the other winners were three of the club's juniors – Ben Smith partnered Pat Jackman to win the mixed knock-out, Joe Annison became the handicap club champion and Chris Hills won the Battersea Cup. Alex is pictured with his silverware.
