Women tennis players from across the country have converged on Norfolk for a week of grass-court action as Cromer Tennis Club hosts the LTA Summer Ladies County Cup.

Teams from Buckinghamshire, East of Scotland, Essex, Lancashire, North Wales and Sussex are taking part.

Kelvin van Hasselt, club chairman, said: “Everyone is welcome at the club to watch this great tournament – it is absolutely free and everyone will get a comfortable courtside seat.

“We hope the people of Cromer and North Norfolk will come and enjoy this beautiful space in the centre of Cromer – and have a Pimms, lunch and strawberries and cream as at Wimbledon.”   North Norfolk News: Cromer club chairman Kelvin van Hasselt, left, with tournament referee John Bruley on the podium of the club’s new referees office.Cromer club chairman Kelvin van Hasselt, left, with tournament referee John Bruley on the podium of the club’s new referees office.
