Sheringham FC ended with a 2:2 draw in their home game against Mildenhall Town.

The Shannocks went into the game after back-to-back defeats at the hands of Fakenham and Norwich United.

The visitors had only lost one game in their last seven and were in the top six in the league, so this was going to be a huge test for Sheringham.

The visitors started brightly and were on the front foot early on. Sheringham were getting used to a change in formation from recent games and took a while to get into the game.

However, after 25 minutes Sheringham took the lead when Tim Cary chased down a loose ball just outside the 18 yard box, forced his way into the penalty area and slotted home at the near post.

Five minutes later the scores were level, after Mildenhall sprang the offside trap and Josh Lee broke clear and finished emphatically past Denham Oliver.

After half-time, Sheringham took the game to Mildenhall and had several half chances which came to Forshaw and Cary.

Archie Galley's left foot half volley hit the crossbar from thirty yards, and Jamie Nelson had a chance to put the game beyond doubt when given too much space in the penalty area, but his shot was cleared.

Jamie Smith finally put the Shannocks ahead midway through the second half when he found some space on the right flank, drove inside and fired home.

Mildenhall then piled on the pressure and, with only five minutes to go Adam Capel got the equaliser with a header from a corner.

All in all, it was a much-improved performance from Sheringham after back-to-back defeats and gives them something to build on going into next Saturday's match at home to Long Melford. The match kicks off at 3pm at Weybourne Road.
