Sheringham opened up a three-point lead in the race for the Anglian Combination championship at the top of the Premier Division after Karl Fox secured a 1-0 win over Wroxham Reserves on Saturday.
But the big bonus for the Shannocks was Acle United's 2-2 draw with Cromer Town, which allowed them to draw clear in the chase for the Sterry Cup.
North Walsham Town, nine points adrift with two games in hand, earned an excellent home win over Hempnall, thanks to a Lee Clarke double.
It temporarily took them up to fourth, but Cromer claimed that spot Tuesday night with a 3-1 home win over AFC Norwich.
Also midweek, Holt dropped into bottom spot after a 3-0 home defeat by Watton while Wroxham Reserves won 5-0 at home to Hindringham.
Saturday's fixtures see Cromer at home to North Walsham, Holt at Acle and Wroxham Reserves at home to midweek Suffolk Senior Cup winners Beccles Town.
On Tuesday night Holt entertain North Walsham.
