Stockwood Park 14, Holt 14
Holt RFC travelled to Stockwood Park in Luton, who will play a league level higher this season, for a pre-sseason friendly. It was Holt who drew first blood with a well-taken penalty by fly-half Graham Ilsley, but the home side replied with a converted try.
Two further opportunities to kick for posts were duly taken by Holt, but again Stockwood Park scored just before half-time to make the score 14-9.
The second half saw the home side under increasing pressure by an impressive Holt pack and some good tactical kicking. Holt finished the stronger of the two sides, scoring an unconverted try to level the score at 14-14.
A draw was a fair result, but two late chances and two missed kicks left Holt feeling it could have been a win.
Impressive displays by MoM Jack Such in the back row and Ben Girling at scrum-half.
