Wells Heritage Art Trail

The first ever outdoor sculpture trail in Wells-next-the-Sea was opened to the public this weekend, with visitors exploring the art work in the sunshine.

The sculptures, celebrating the town’s history, will be on show from June 23 until the end of September.

Wells resident and art expert John Millwood said: “The Wells Heritage Art Trail celebrates the life of the Wells people of sea and shore, past and present, with each artwork telling its own story.

“The Trail begins in Wells Maltings and then runs to the harbour, with two extensions: one out along East Quay, and then it jumps a mile along the side of the channel, with two works at the Beach Café and one in the pinewoods.”

The walk, being an hour and a half long, is the perfect trip to take on a summer weekend.
