A group of Travellers who moved onto a former care home site in Aylsham yesterday has returned to a spot they were previously at in Taverham.

The group set up on the Aegel House site off Burgh Road, Aylsham on Tuesday, but had moved on by Wednesday morning.

The care home, which was opened in the 1960s, was closed in 2012.

A Broadland Council spokesman said: 'This is the same group of travellers who were on A1067 Fakenham Road near the NDR.

'An officer checked earlier this morning and they are no longer in Aylsham and have returned to A1067 site.

'The A1067 is county council land and they are taking the necessary steps to remove them from this site.'

It follows Travellers setting up at different sites in and near Norwich over the past week, including at Costessey park and ride on the outskirts of the city, and at the Norwich City Council-owned St Crispins Car Park.
