Sheringham in Bloom's hanging baskets are now up around the town and the floral competitions for shops and businesses will be judged during the week beginning July 10.

There are various classes for the flower displays, and there is no need to enter as judges will cover the whole town.

In Bloom chairman Joan Thame said: 'We also have a competition for residential front gardens which is run with the Sheringham Horticultural Society. Last year we introduced a change to the competition by throwing the judging open to the public.

'This was very successful and we would like to continue with this. So if, as you walk around the town, you are aware of a particularly nice front garden, contact us by telephone (01263 825242) or email joanthame123@gmail.com. The deadline for contacting us is July 30. We will then arrange for our judges to visit each of the gardens nominated and select the best for an award.'
