Crab and lobster to unite again on Cromer pier
PETER STIBBONS POPPYLAND PUBLISHING
They are just a few miles apart and rivalry between Sheringham and Cromer in north Norfolk has always been intense.
But the lobster and the crab are set to unite again when the Sheringham Shantymen perform alongside Keith Skipper at Cromer pier.
The Shantymen crowned their 25th anniversary celebrations in 2015 with a sell-out show over the border.
Now they’re warming up for another rousing return to the Pavilion Theatre stage.
This time, profits will go to Sheringham and Cromer Lifeboats and the Cromer Hospital Charitable Fund.
Cromer-based writer Mr Skipper said: “There’s a very thin line between local rivalry and bad-tempered open warfare. As an honorary crab for 30 years, I approach such cultural bridge-building fixtures in a completely unbiased frame of mind.”
Tickets are £10 for Another Big Wave on Sunday, November 4 (7.30pm) from the Pavilion Theatre box-office on 01263 512495 or www.cromerpier.co.uk
