Ten members of Coltishall Jaguars running club - seven women and three men - completed the hottest Virgin London Marathon yet and raised £17,750 for charity.

One of the runners, Nick Richards said: 'The one thing that kept me going was the fact I was doing something good for charity. The pain and the heat were a major factor, but all that didn't matter when I thought about the amount of money I was raising. And I think I speak on behalf of all the other Jags.'

The charities that will benefit are the Priscilla Bacon Lodge support group, Asthma UK, Children With Cancer, Back Care, The Stroke Association, Seeability, Heads Together, Plan International UK and The Benjamin Foundation.

For seven of the runners, including Sarah Letzer, it was their first marathon and she said: 'Although I've said never again, maybe one day I will have to give it another go.'
