A roadworks sign has been placed in front of the hole on the Cromer Road at Trimingham, near Mundesley, and a red cone placed on top of it.

The site is immediately opposite a new £600,000 purpose-built community centre/ village hall, which opened with an art exhibition on the weekend.

Visitors told Norfolk County Council Highways about the hole, and it is believed that Anglian Water will need to fill it in.

Terry Brown, chairman of the village hall trust, said: “Believe it was where the water was laid across the road. Our contractor knows about it and has notified those responsible.”
