Having the skills and confidence to react in the event of a medical emergency can be a matter of life or death.
And now around 200 children from Stalham High School and Stalham Academy have picked up first aid essentials thanks to a useful lesson from a team of first responders.
A group of six volunteers from Stalham and Smallburgh Community First Responders paid a visit to the school to teach the basics of how to preserve someone's life in case of an medical emergency.
Chris Hole, a first responder and English teacher at the school, co-ordinated the event for pupils aged 10 to 16.
Martin Budgett, head of school, said: 'Knowing that so many children in our area now know these essential life preservation skills is a great reassurance to us as schools, and to the community at large.'
