Staff at Sheringham Leisure Centre, Splash are marking Drowning Prevention Week by organising a string of events aimed at showing youngsters and adults how to be safe, and have fun, near water.
As part of an annual campaign run from June 15-25 by the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) in partnership with the RNLI and Swim England, Splash lifeguards and swimming instructors will be visiting Sheringham Primary School to give talks and run lifesaving workshops for pupils, as well as giving demonstrations at the town's Tesco store.
The centre's operations manager Ash Allen said: 'Living by the coast, it is vital that people know the dangers of water and how to take action if someone was to get into difficulty.'
Splash staff will be at Tesco, Sheringham, on June 18, from 10am-2pm. The centre is also hosting a sprint triathlon on June 24 from 8am-9am, with proceeds going to the RLSS. To enter phone 01263 825675 or visit the Splash Facebook page.
