Motorists in north Norfolk have been urged to take extra care as freezing temperatures and fresh snowfall overnight have left many roads in a treacherous condition.
Problem spots include North Walsham where a number of hold-ups on the roads have been reported. In Westwick, just outside of the town, along the B1150 road, some vehicles are reportedly stuck trying to negotiate the bends close to Captain's Pond.
North Norfolk schools which are closed today include Buxton Primary School, Douglas Bader Centre Pupil Referral Unit, Sheringham High School and Sixth Form Centre and Swanton Abbott Community Primary School.
Norfolk police have asked all motorists to ensure their windscreens are completely clear before they make their journey.
The cold weather is expected to remain over the weekend and into next week, with the chance of more snow showers on the way.
