Sister Act audiences get in the giving habit and raise £3,000 for charity
Norfolk’s sight loss charity has received a £3,000 boost, following the generosity of audiences attending performances of Sister Act at Cromer’s Pavilion Theatre.
Cromer and Sheringham Operatic and Dramatic Society chooses a local charity to benefit from collections at its performances each year- and this year’s beneficiary was the Norfolk & Norwich Association for the Blind (NNAB), which supports people with visual impairments to live independent and fulfilled lives.
The smash-hit show played to capacity audiences all week – with audience donations and a £500 donation from CSODS itself boosting its coffers by over £3,000.
Robin Taylor, chairman of CSODS, said, “We are delighted that our sell-out audiences for Sister Act were so generous.”
NNAB events officer Donna Minto said: “I think it’s a reflection of the feel-good nature of the show and the amazing performances that audience members were so generous with their donations on their way out of the theatre.”
