School children at a north Norfolk school have been helping raise thousands for a variety of charities.
Pupils at Sidestrand Hall School have taken part in three events to raise the money for Norwich City Football Club's, Football in the Community (FIC) programme, Breast Cancer Awareness and the RNLI SOS Day. In October pupils raised �1,200 which was split between the school and the FIC programme, (now known as the Community Sports Foundation) with a penalty day event.
One of the students, 15-year-old Harry Jeckell from Horsford, who is a season ticket holder at Norwich City, won a full Norwich City away kit after gaining the most sponsorship for the event, raising just over �300.
On Tuesday last week the pupils wore something pink for a minimum of a �1 donation to Breast Cancer Awareness, raising �100, and the following day they all wore something spotty or stripey for a minimum �1 and raised �80 for the RNLI SOS fund.
Neil Patrickson, assistant headteacher at the school, said: 'These events are something we like to do as we like the children to feel that they are contributing to charities.'
