Hundreds turned out to pay their respects at Sheringham, where the town's Salvation Army Band led a parade to the war memorial for a service led by the vicar of Sheringham, former Royal Navy chaplain, Rev Christian Heycocks.
Special guest was Royal Navy deputy chaplain of the fleet Rev Dr Scott Shackleton, who served with Mr Heycocks in Iraq and Afghanistan during his four-and-a-half year stint on front line duty.
The names of the fallen were read by local Brownies and Scouts, with representatives from groups including the RNLI, the emergency services and the town council laying wreaths before parading to St Peter's for the traditional town service.
Mr Heycocks said: 'Scott would usually be at Portsmouth, or at the Cenotaph in London, so it is quite an honour to have him with us and I know he considered it an honour to preach in Sheringham, which has such a nautical tradition.'
