Sheringham Town Council is appealing to the families of servicemen whose names are listed on the town war memorial to share memories and photographs of their forebears, as part of a project aimed at commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
Plans for the scheme so far include a beacon lighting ceremony at the Leas clifftop gardens, a community craft project run by Sheringham Women's Institute and a screening of the First World War film Journey's End at Sheringham Little Theatre.
Town clerk Denise Medlar said: 'One of the purposes of the project will be to honour those residents of Sheringham who gave their lives in the service of their country, so we are keen to contact families who would be willing to contribute their memories and photographs.'
Anyone wanting to contribute to the project, which will run during November, or who has information about the names on the war memorial (listed below), can contact Ms Medlar on 01263 822213, email: shercouncil@btconnect.com
