Sheringham songsters the Shantymen have been honing their singing skills over the winter months and, after teaching new members an extensive repertoire of more than 130 tunes, the group is ready to embark on a new season of performances across the county and beyond.

Founder member Brian Farrow said group members were looking for new bass and baritone singers to improve and maintain their much-prided close harmony skills.

'We would like volunteers who already sing, who are looking to expand their horizons and, most importantly, want to have a lot of fun and gain great satisfaction into the bargain,' he added.

The Shantymen will be performing at St Peter's Church, Sheringham, on April 7 at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £5, are available on the door, with all proceeds going towards the upkeep of the church.
