Worried councillors in Sheringham have agreed to contact the people in charge of the former Woolworths store to ask whether any progress has been made filling the gap in their town.
Worried councillors in Sheringham have agreed to contact the people in charge of the former Woolworths store to ask whether any progress has been made filling the gap in their town.
At the town council meeting Harold Prior suggested approaching the lease holders of the High Street building in order to allay worries about the future of the site.
Mayor Noel Gant said: 'We feel we ought to be concerned. We have got a great big hole in Sheringham. We will be contacting the lease holders as a matter of concern. People say to me as I walk down the street 'what's happening'.'
He added, while the town council could not do anything to ensure the site was let, it would try to find out if anyone had made enquiries about the store.
